Downtime post mortem

Today, we had our first bit of unscheduled downtime starting around 1:30pm EST. For about 10 minutes the site was unavailable, and for about another 10 after that it was slower than usual while our search index rebuilt. The cause is a little bit of a mystery. We use Amazon Web Services for our hosting….

Few changes

We rolled out a few changes to the site tonight that are worth taking note of. First, all projects must be in an organization. Before, some projects could be owned by a person instead of an organization. For any existing projects like that, we’ve created a new organization for the owner of the project and…

Handling bugs scrum

I was talking with a company that is one of ScrumDo’s largest users the other day. They are highly invested in that system, and are also highly invested in Scrum for new development. There are…

Third party integrations

We’ve got a set of features we’re working on right now. Things like an epic story tool, improving the documentation, cleaning up the remote API, and creating a mobile client. Epic, stories and quest perfection

I’ve been working on an epic-story feature off and on for a couple weeks now. Today, I finished most of the work for it and stepped back to take a look. I tried to explain it to Ajay, the other ScrumDo founder, and was having a real hard time describing what it did and how…

Open source or commercial

Here at ScrumDo we’re straddling the line between an Open Source project and a for-profit company. Most of our code is open source under the LGPL license.
